First off, we would like to congratulate you on getting your place at Newcastle! We are your Students' Union, a student-run organisation at the University that dedicates its time and resources to give the whole student community of Newcastle University, fairness, opportunities, and a voice. We host a wide range of Clubs & Societies, run a large network of volunteering opportunities, offer support & professional advice services, as well as social spaces to study, eat, drink, and watch live music.
We also host Freshers! You can join us between 18 - 23 September for the only official University freshers' programme for Newcastle University students (watch out for those scammers on social media). Jam-packed with daytime and evening we really recommend getting involved.
What else is happening as you begin? Well if you are an international student arriving in early September, we have a full activities programme set up for you to enjoy, and in late September all students are invited to come along to our 2 fairs. Our Club & Society Fair is your chance to see what you'd like to get involved in this year, whilst our Discover Newcastle Fair will introduce you to local businesses and lots of freebies - both are not to be missed.

Is this genuinely the official freshers' for Newacstle University? Is it another scam?
We are glad you clicked on this, because yes, there are lots of accounts around at the moment insinuating they are the 'official' Freshers.
We can 100% guarantee that this website is the ONLY official Freshers' programme brought to you by Newcastle University (through the Newcastle University Students' Union). Check out the Students' Union's official website where you will see links back to this page.
You can also check that a reference to Freshers' from the University will take you to this site.
We would like to state that our wristband will ONLY BE SOLD ON THIS SITE and nowhere else - don't be fooled.
How do I collect my wristband?
Head to our wristband collection information page to find out more - click here.
How do I sign up for daytime activities?
All of our daytime activities can be signed up for in-person during Freshers' Week itself.
Come to the Tent
Each day, you can come to campus, head to the big blue Freshers' tent, and sign up for any activity that we have running that morning or afternoon. You can book onto any morning activities from 8 am, and book on to afternoon events each day from 12pm midday. Each activity on this site will let you know whether the event is a morning or afternoon activity so you know when to come in to book.
Be Speedy
Our only advice is that popular activities can get booked up quick, so try to arrive as early as you can to secure your place. We have ensured activities run over multiple time-slots, over multiple days though.
Email Receipt & QR Code
Once signed-up, you will receive an email receipt of your booking and a QR code. Please present this at the meeting point so you can be scanned in.
I need support related to the event / event organiser, who should I contact?
If your query is related to the event, it is best to speak with the person who is organising the event (freshers.week@ncl.ac.uk). If you message native they'll try to help but may not have information that relates to the event itself. For example, what time a guest will start speaking, if there is a dress code or anything similar to that.
I need support related to logging in/ accessing my account, who should I contact?
If you could please email support@native.fm and state further details about the event or topic you are asking about so we can deal with your query as quickly as possible.
Native is a student events discovery platform that aims to deliver the best experiences to students. Our website and app show events in your city and now we power websites like NUSU's.
